We recently visited for our wedding anniversary, and we loved our experience at Fleming's. The service was superb from the moment we entered. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer, which, we agreed, were some of the best we've had. I also ordered a small side house salad, which was pretty awesome--dried cranberries, walnuts, fresh croutons, vinaigrette. We each ordered the filet mignon--cooked to perfection--along with the Fleming's potatoes and chipotle cheddar Mac and cheese. The sides are served "family style" for the table to share, and there was definitely plenty for the two of us and then some. The potatoes were delish--au-gratin type potatoes in a rich cheese/jalapeño sauce, and the Mac and cheese was pretty good, as well. I only wish we hadn't ordered two such "rich" sides, as we had a bit of a cheesy overload. Next time, I'll probably go for the potatoes and green beans. My only real disappointment--the "sauces" they offered alongside the steak left a little something to be desired. The waitress was kind enough to give us a small sampling of them, and none seemed too impressive. No big deal, though--as the meat was great alone. Overall, a really nice meal, and I feel certain we'll be back for another occasion.

We all know this place is amazing. However, what makes this Fleming's location particularly unique is one of the bartenders: Jon D. This guy slings perfect drinks and perfect smiles. I'm giving him 5 stars as well.

Fleming's is a chain steak house that originated in Newport Beach, CA a pretty upscale town (think of the TV show The OC). But for a chain, it's able to keep its upscale aura. Entrees and sides are sold individually, so unlike the Outback where for $20 you can get a steak, a salad, and a side, at Fleming's you would pay for your steak and a side and salad separately. I ordered there 12 ounce filet mignon ($41!!!!) with a side of creamed corn ($8). No salad for me. To go with the meal I got a glass of malbec wine ($15). The wine was good, the side was good, and the service was wonderful. But I ordered my steak medium rare, but it came out rare to me. I know I should have sent it back, but I ate it anyway and it was chewier than I preferred my filet mignons to be. And for $41!!! However, I was only able to afford this meal because American Express offered me $50 off when I paid with my American Express card, so I ended up paying like $20 for this meal, which is the only reason I made the 60+ mile drive from New Orleans to eat here. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. My server at the bar (there was no room left in the dining hall) was really great. The food was good (except that my steak came out rare - but I could tell the meat was quality). On my own, without my discount, I don't know know that I could ever rationalize eating there at those prices. And if I did have money to blow on a gourmet meal, I don't know that I'd blow it here. I'd rather to to a non-chain restaurant, or if a chain, then a more established chain like Morton's or something. I had a very good time here, but for some reason, I don't find myself compelled to come back. I can't describe it. But there you have it.

Our favorite place to eat hands down. Not one complaint at all of anything we have eaten nor with our service. We dine here about four or five times a year.

Food, for the most part, was not to the quality I would expect for such a high end restaurant. My meal consisted of the French onion soup, small plate filet, and mashed potatoes. The French onion soup tasted like a bowl of soy sauce, extremely salty and not much else. The filet was absolutely fantastic. In fact, probably the best I've ever had. However, the small plate filet ($25) was only five small slices which can be eaten in the same number of bites. I actually ordered the Flemings mashed potatoes but the staff forgot to put the order in and when I reminded them, they brought me the house mashed potatoes, which had entirely no taste to them. The service was acceptable, and even comped our desserts along with a $25 gift card. However, I was still disappointed with the overall experience. I left feeling hungry and ripped off. I know many restaurants in the area where I can get twice the quality for half the price. I will not be returning.

the steaks are AWESOME here! and the waitress was HOT!!!! that's what my girlfriend told me when I brought her there to eat, everything was awesome. Well! the bread is really hard, i think it chipped my toofus. the LAVA cake is to live for! freaking delicious, OVERALL i give this place 5 circles! very expensive btw. More of a yearly thing, or when I hit the powerball then I can come back and dine here.

Um-umm good. The 5-6-7 deal is great! The Pomartini is AWESOME. The bartender, Justin, off da hook. Loved him. My daughter and I went after touring the Laura Creole Plantation. Very hungry and much in need of drinks! I had the Pomartini made with Grey Goose; she the pear something or other, made with Smirnoff. Both good, but after tasting my Pom, she switched over. We ate only appetizers, and they were DELICIOUS! We had the lightly seared ahi tuna, done to perfection, and the mustard-y sauce with horseradish. De-yummy! We then tackled a wonderful cheeseburger with bacon (cheddar cheese) and onion rings. Heavenly! From there we tried the shrimp with a wonderful sauce that had a bit of a bite to it. That was my daughter's favorite. But no, we didn't stop there. We went on to the calamari, which wasn't great ~ didn't like the sweet sauce they put over it. Justin nicely removed that item from our bill. The mushroom stuffed ravioli was probably my favorite. Great experience. Great service. Great food. Great drinks.

this place is pretty good! atmosphere is nice and people are attentive. been here only twice both having a great experience. was feeling for steak and had to try this place.--ordered the prime new york strip--cooked medium ..which came out as what i expected-seasoned well and tasted great..devoured it with my side of asparagus which was cooked perfectly. My 2nd visit which was for a birthday dinner, i chose the lamb chops which was superb!! only bones left on the plate..--i recommend you try these two if its your first vist.--what top this off for me was the chocolate lava cake which was sooo rich but ohhh sooo good..just melted in my mouth!! a definite dessert after your meal if you plan to go here.

My first visit has been my last visit to Flemings. I've paid as much as and in many cases a lot less for a steak and had much better. I ordered the 12oz filet to be prepared medium. Upon cutting into the filet it was apparent that it was not cooked medium, it was rare. Not one to complain I thought I would stick it out until I had my first bite. The filet tasted as if it had been marinated in brine then rolled in coarse salt. The look of horror on my face prompted my dinner guest to get the attention of the waitress. The waitress took it back and prepared another. This time the coarse salt was absent from the exterior but the salty flavor still overpowered the taste of the meat and the filet was more rare than the initial filet. The waitress took the plate away to further cook the filet leaving a black ring of what appeared to be char from the bottom of the dirty plate on the table cloth in front of me. A gentleman in a suit and tie returned very shortly with another filet, this time it was the same size as my dinner guest' filet which was a 6 oz filet. Albiet not the 12 oz filet that I ordered, it was prepared medium and was palatable without the overpower taste of salt. By this time my dinner guest had well finished his meal and I had finished the side of creamed spinach. The experience was ruined and all I could do was just eat the filet and get it over with. The sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were fine, though nothing extraordinary...and certainly not deserving of the $10 or $11 a la carte price. At that price, one should be wowed. The off menu duck and grits appetizer - $19.95, was delicious, well prepared, and flavorful. The Chocolate lava cake - $13.50 was decent, but I've had better...actually from my own kitchen. The runny light brown chocolate pudding center didn't resemble lava, there was too much whipped cream and a little, mini scoop of ice cream. The waitress Jennifer was very nice with a relaxed and genuine personality. Jennifer provided great service. The lady Maitre D' was sincerely apologetic for the mishaps and comped the cost of the filet ($47.95). The total amount of my check came to $85.40 after the filet was comped. The total included drinks for me and my guest (he paid for his own meal). After a $30 tip the grand total was $115.40. The food and the experience were certainly not worth that and will not soon be forgotten...first impressions are lasting impressions. There are much better steak houses out there and right here in Baton Rouge.

5 stars for this location, 4 for the chain in general. But here in B.R., it's a gem. They really work on making diners feel not just welcome, but like a VIP for the evening. We had a similar experience to that in another review where the restaurant sent someone out for something the bar ran low on. Although I like to eat at different places around town, I frequently find people preferring Fleming's . . and that I never regret going along.

FABULOUS and attentive service! I'm familiar with Fleming's as I've lived on the West Coast for a while. But on a recent business trip to Baton Rouge, the hotel I was staying at (Residence Inn Cedar Point Towne Centre) was very close to this restaurant so I decided to swing on over. As a solo diner, I proceeded to the bar area to dine. I was warmly greeted by the hosts, and equally greeted by the bartending staff. Mike was the main bartender who served me, however he introduced the rest of the bartending staff to me. They were all extremely friendly, and extremely hospitable! I wasn't terribly hungry and was looking at a few appetizers, when Mike pointed out a special. Until 7pm they had several items that were $6 each. So I ordered the Seared Ahi and Calamari. The Ahi... was meh! Definitely not the best I've had, but the Calamari was very tasty! I really like the sweet chili glaze/sauce they had -- but I think they probably put too much on. They also had some cocktail specials for $6 - so I tried the Tropical Martini. It was delish! And when in Rome... I had to order the Creme Brulee. Mike said it was amazing. And it was! (A little too much for one person, but I loved every spoonful!) Overall a great visit... I definitely give the service 5 *'s. I was just disappointed with the taste of the Ahi (overcooked and blah) and the amount of sauce that doused the calamari. I would totally go here again though!

Great service and the 8 ounce filet mignon steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our server Mike was very friendly and helpful. As a lover of Ruth Chris's steakhouse, Flemings lived up to the same standards. I will be frequenting here more often.

Great restaurant! You will pay for it, but that's the only flaw we found. Constance was the best waitress I've ever had - knowledgable, friendly, able to make good recommendations without feeling like she's up selling you. And the food! Awesome!!!! I had a filet special and my husband had the dry aged ribeye with creamed spinach. And don't buy the wrong wine! Justin will let you sample to make sure you get something you love.

Awful. Everything. The mash potatoes were gelatinous. Salad dressings horrible. Nothing done right. And ridiculously expensive. You can do way better.

As always, Flemings was great. Todd and Darren were quite attentive and made some wonderful suggestions for our meal. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our fine dinner of grilled redfish with shrimp and holandaise and my Wagyu Steak. If you haven't had Wagyu please give it a try. The beef is more "earthy" than a traditional Angus steak and a nice change. For dessert make sure you try the Turtle Walnut Chocolate Pie.

The good: Staff are friendly and atmosphere is nice. It is a bit dark, which I really like, but could see others not enjoying. The cocktails are good, but not great. We were told the calamari and carpaccio were great. Tried both, not good at all. Will go back and try the six dollar burger.

Omg this place is so delicious. Pricey but worth every penny. Love their steak. No sauce needed. And their margarita is good as well.

Food Average. Kitchen service terrible. But management and wait staff gets and A for effort. My husband and I went to Flemings on a Wednesday night for a "quick supper". We had a friend's high school aged daughter with us and she needed to be in bed at a decent hour but we thought we would give her a treat. We arrived at 6:30pm thinking that they wouldn't be crowded that early. We were seated right away ordered a glass of wine and a soda for our guest. After almost 20 minutes of sitting we had to ask a passing waiter to get our server so we could order. She came, we ordered and opted to skip appetizer and salad to hurry our dinner along. It didn't work. Forty five minutes later our steaks finally arrived. The server apologized for the slow service with an explanation that they were serving TWO large private parties and the kitchen was backed up. On a different note the food was just OK. Steaks could have had a bit more flavor - more like Chris's. Sautéed green beans were fresh and flavorful. The Flemings potatoes (scalloped to most of us) were excellent. By the time we finished our meal the manager walked over and said because of the service issues they were comping our entire meal - including our wine! Didn't really make up for a 2 and a half hour one course meal but it didn't hurt. I think they were trying to be as nice as they could under the circumstances. We tipped our server (it truly wasn't her fault) and decided we would go back sometime in the future to give them another chance. Hopefully they will solve their staffing issues.

Good steak, good atmosphere, okay service. Everything was good, but for the price you pay, you might as well go to Ruth's Chris, because the steaks taste better there, & they definitely have better service.

The build and location is great. Every upscale and it would be great for a romantic date night with your wife. The food was very safe in terms of taste but the environment could easily overshadow the lack luster taste from the food. Now, the waitress we had was terrible and she never explained the different sauces that came with the steak. We had to ask another waiter for refills, she act like she was on drugs (she was very much disengaged). We waiter at the table in front of us came to his table 8 times before our waitress would come back 1 time. Nevertheless, I will go back one more time but I will not pay that kind of money for terrible service. 7 out of 10

Great steak probably the best place for one in Baton Rouge. I feel that this is a solid opinion because I am VERY particular when it comes to the red meat. Prepare your pocket book though because it is pretty pricey. Well worth it though.

This is always a go-to for us during happy hour. The burger is amazing and a steal at only $7 during Happy Hour. The drinks are amazing! Perfect spot for a date night.

Service was terrible! It took 1hr 45mins to get our food and the restaurant was only 1/2 full. I ordered the ribeye special and it was fatty and had a "rotten taste". Ate a few bites and discarded. The Flemings potato's were excellent and I should have just ordered that as my meal. The "bread guy" offered exceptional service. Too bad he was not the one running the restaurant! All in all not even an average meal which with no alcohol was $75+++ per head. Too many other excellent choices in Baton Rouge to have to deal with average to below average. Won't be back!

Great service at bar. Caesar salad was great as well as the short ribs. Great wine selection. Over all great place to eat at bar and have a glass of wine.

We went there a few Saturday's ago---group of 7 with reservations. We arrived 10 minutes late but they held the table for us and it was ready when we arrived. Throughout our visit the host and wait staff were professional, courteous and informative. The place was neat and clean, including the restroom. Of course for fine dining this is expected however you do not alwAys get this so we were pleased. We tried 2 different bottles of red wine and very acceptable. We order the duck and runs appetizers plus a salad and all were delicious. 1 fish, 4 different steak orders and a multitude of vegetables---no real complaints here and all of us were satisfied. We also ordered the lava dessert but was a little disappointed with it. Oh yeah , one of the regular steak items was sold out and we ordered by 8pm saturday which seemed odd. Place is expensive but it was enjoyable and thumbs up

Took him out because his bday is coming up. We had a great time. Service was IMPECCABLE from the moment we walked in. We had the French onion soup which was hearty and flavorful. For the main course he got the porterhouse I believe. Which he thoroughly enjoyed. Said it was grilled perfectly and didn't need any additional topping. The truffle mashed potatoes were yummy and fragrant. For dessert we got the molten lava chocolate cake. Honestly, the pistachio cookie that came with it was more exciting than the cake. Oh and he was really pumped about the wine pad, a gadget (IPad) used to read about and order wine. Pretty dope.

Probably the best service ever !! Great job Mike !! Everything about this visit was perfect. There was no wait time, exceptional service and one of the best steaks I've ever had. Only downside is the lighting for a girl with had eyes like myself trying to read the menu but, hey ... I can deal with that when EVERYTHING else is A+ !!

Let me just tell you, your WASTING your time going to other steakhouses. Flemings has impeccable service ( Thank you Michi Smith! ) and wonderful food. She gave us great options, offered her opinion on drinks ( Listen to the women! She's got a great pallet!! ) Recommended by her, we got the Moscow Mule, the Whiskey Revival & the Basil Lemon drop- ALL fantastic. For an appetizer we had the Ahi Tuna which was delish! And for our entrees we had the NY strip & the Bone-In Ribeye! IMPECCABLE!! Great steaks, very tasty! Over all our experience was great- Especially they truffles at the end! Michi Smith was amazing, really fantastic waitress. Above & beyond!

We started in the bar with happy hour appetizers and cocktails. Best happy hour! Then steak for dinner. Cooked perfectly and the Flemings potatoes are so good! The lava cake is really delicious...the pistachio cookie that comes with is really good.

A friend and I went to Fleming's last night for two fabulous events. 1. Happy Hour which includes something they call 5 for $6 til 7. Specifically that is 5 Specialty Cocktails, 5 Wines, and 5 Appetizers for $6 til 7 pm. flemingssteakhouse.com/l… 2. Baton Rouge's Restaurant Week. Our reservations were for 7 pm. We arrived early for some adult beverages during their Happy Hour which is only at the bar. The bartenders were very welcoming and generous. They offered tastings of the wines prior to our selection. We went with the Cab. As we sat and chatted we watched them pour, mix, and muddle through the menu. The aroma of fresh basil muddled through lime juice mixed with Absolut Citron piqued my senses. And the lovely bartender gave me a taste. Delicious! We had that next! As 7 pm approached we were so satisfied and comfortable at the bar that we changed our reservations to stay seated there. The$35 Pre Fixe menu for Restaurant week was delicious, nicely portioned, and properly cooked. Ours included included a Modern Caesar, Hearts of romaine, parmesan, fried capers and crisp prosciutto chips, a petite filet (which not petite at all -- it was huge), Fleming's Potatoes --the house specialty with cream, jalapeños and cheddar cheese, and White Chocolate Bread Pudding. (See pictures) Everything was incredible. We were oohing and ahhing after every bite. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone especially during Restaurant Week!! ....just realized we didn't snap a photo of the filet.....apparently we was too HOnGry!

Justin took care of us in the bar area. So kind and attentive! They have 5 cocktails/5 wines-by-the-glass/5 appetizers for $6 each, served til 7pm. Score! We literally tried every one of the appetizers on their 5-6-7 menu! Here's my ranking (best is first): 1. Wicked Cajun BBQ Shrimp. 2. Fleming's Prime burger. 3. Tenderloin carpaccio. 4. Seared ahi tuna. 5. Roasted mushroom ravioli. 6. Sweet chile calamari.

My wife and I went to Fleming's last night to eat dinner for our 8th anniversary. I love steak and the prime ribeye was cooked to perfection. Actually, it was one of the best steaks I have ate recently! My wife is not a "big steak" person and decided to try the prime filet anyway. She also loved her steak as much as I did. We enjoyed the Cajun bar-b-que shrimp for an appetizer and they were awesome! Fleming's provided great customer service from when we arrived until we left! The entire staff was very friendly, extremely polite, and made sure our dining experience was excellent! I highly recommend Fleming's to anyone looking for a great steak in a relaxed environment!! We will definitely be eating there in the future!

Five of us dined here on March 10, 2011. While the service and bar bantering prior to the meal was a bit uncomfortable, the actual meal and dining room service couldn't be surpassed. Our waiter was professional, unobtrusive, and we were given a special desert due to it being two of our birthdays. My only suggestion would be that if off-work or former employees make visits, not to hold these conversations at the bar where paying customers aren't terribly concerned about Bambi's wedding.

  • Lisa J.

Just a quick note - I've never eaten at Fleming's for dinner; it's a little pricier than I generally care to justify. However, Fleming's has a most excellent happy hour called "5 for 6 'til 7". 5 cocktails, 5 wines, 5 small plates, $6 each until 7:00 on weekdays. This is a GREAT deal and really economical for such great quality food. I usually get two small plates and a cocktail or two and make a dinner of it. The bar can get a little crowded during this time, so best not to come with a large group. Definitely check it out if you are by yourself or with one or two friends!
